“This physical environment doesn’t really exist.
Hold the thought in the vortex and it is manifest. The vortex always gives you what you want.”

In art, there is a concept called negative space. Negative space is the space around an object that defines it; it is the shape of the object. When you take art or drawing classes you learn to look at the shape of the space around something. You learn that the space around an object is just as important, and sometimes more so, than the object itself.
We have all seen that picture of the vase that, when you look at it differently, can also appear to be two people talking. It is the negative space and how we see it that defines that picture.
When we see the negative space on both sides we perceive the object to be a vase in the middle. When we see the negative space in the center we perceive two faces looking at each other.
Law of attraction is similar. The negative space is that thing we want and don’t have. It exists in our lives by our attention to it and gives contrast to the thing in our lives that we don’t want. We compare our present experience to what we want, and we use the lack of what we want to define what we do have.
Here’s an example: We may have too many bills that we can’t pay. “More month than money”, as the expression goes. What we want is prosperity and an abundance of money to pay our bills. Prosperity is the negative space in our experience. It is the thing that is not there that shapes our feelings about what is there – the bills and the difficulty in paying them.
In law of attraction we don’t focus on reality. We don’t spend any more time thinking about those things in our experience that we don’t want than we absolutely have to to get things done. To attract something to us, rather than look at what we have, that thing that we don’t want that is there, we must put our attention on the negative space – the thing that is not there that we desire. Whether this thing we desire is a lover, a car, a home or a job, we focus our thoughts on having it, being it, and living it. And in that way we bring it into our lives.
We don’t focus on the presence of the things we don’t want. Energy flows where attention goes, and to focus on anything is to draw more of it to us. We focus on the negative space because that is the birthplace of all we desire. In life, as in art, negative space helps us create more clearly.
